A thrilling espionage novel by Anthony Horowitz, first published in 2015. Officially commissioned by the Ian Fleming Publications, it is a continuation of the classic James Bond novels and is set in 1957, just two weeks after the events of Goldfinger. It is also notable for incorporating previously unpublished material written by Ian Fleming into its opening chapter.

James Bond returns to London after his victory at Fort Knox, with Pussy Galore still very much a part of his life. However, peace is short-lived. The escalating Cold War and the growing Space Race between the Soviet Union and the West create the backdrop for Bond's next assignment.

Bond is sent undercover to the legendary Nürburgring racing circuit in West Germany, where he participates in a dangerous Grand Prix race. What begins as a mission to thwart a Soviet assassination attempt quickly expands into a far-reaching conspiracy involving SMERSH, a ruthless Korean industrialist named Sin Jai-Seong, and a plot that could dramatically alter the global balance of power. Alongside American intelligence agent Jeopardy Lane, Bond races from Europe to the United States to stop a scheme involving rocket technology and nuclear-age espionage before disaster strikes.

Horowitz faithfully recreates Ian Fleming's style while adding his own cinematic pacing. The novel combines high-speed motor racing, glamorous settings, memorable villains, espionage, and classic Bond action, making it feel like a lost Fleming adventure rather than a modern reinterpretation. Critics particularly praised Horowitz's ability to capture Fleming's voice and atmosphere.
