Tom Gates: Top of the Class (Nearly) is the ninth book in the Tom Gates series by Liz Pichon. In this book, Tom finds himself navigating his way through school challenges, aiming to impress his teachers and do well in class. However, he’s easily distracted by drawing, his love for snacks, and various mishaps involving his friends and family.

As usual, Tom’s hilarious doodles and observations fill the pages, showcasing his unique perspective on school life, family events, and his quest to reach the "top of the class" — even though things don’t always go as planned. This book is packed with humor, fun illustrations, and relatable moments for middle-grade readers.
