The first part of The Lord of the Rings trilogy follows Frodo Baggins as he leaves the peaceful Shire to destroy the One Ring before it can be claimed by the dark lord Sauron. Joined by a fellowship of companions including Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, and Sam, Frodo begins a dangerous journey across Middle-earth filled with ancient evil, friendship, courage, and sacrifice.
