AK Debdas MD (Kol) FRCOG (Lond) FRCS (Edin) FICOG is a retired Honorary Associate Professor, MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. He is also a Visiting Lecturer of National Academy of Medical Sciences. He is an examiner of eight universities and National Board, including PhD. He runs a research unit for Rajkumari Welfare Foundation, Jamshedpur. He has also made several original scientific contributions, such as growth tape, steroid tape, paperless partogram, descent meter, multi-fetal monitoring circuit with telemetry, PPH alert bag, obstetric chronochart, hands-free fetal monitoring device, VA stimulator (VAST), and cheap low-skill tele-monitoring system of labour, etc. He is an author of eight books, and the recipient of four FOGSI awards, including 'Corion Award' for original research work.
