Awful Auntie by David Walliams is a quirky, darkly humorous children's book about a young girl named Stella Saxby and her dreadful aunt, Aunt Alberta. Aunt Alberta is the main antagonist and embodies a sinister yet absurdly comical character.

Aunt Alberta is large, intimidating, and has a penchant for wearing outdated, eccentric clothing that includes tweed, fur, and feathers. She’s known for her overpowering personality, twisted sense of humor, and greed, willing to do anything to inherit Saxby Hall, the family estate. Her constant companion is a giant Bavarian owl named Wagner, adding to her bizarre and menacing image.

This villainous aunt is scheming, manipulative, and relentless, often employing wild and ridiculous methods to get her way. Her appearance and exaggerated traits make her both terrifying and comical, perfectly fitting Walliams' style of blending humor with gothic elements in his children’s stories.
