The eleventh edition of this archetypal and exemplary textbook has been restructured along the lines of the Competency-Based Medical Education

(CBME) curriculum which is being implemented across the country. Emphasis has been placed on integrated teaching for a holistic approach to infectious diseases, with the content revised to incorporate the key objectives of the Microbiology curriculum. A note has been added to help faculty navigate the TOC in a way best suited to them, to effectively teach the new integrated approach. General Learning Objectives have been provided to act as a guide to the focal points of the curriculum.
