TEXTBOOK OF ORTHODONTICS By Gurkeerat Singh 2nd Edition

The 2nd edition of the Textbook of Orthodontics is an upgraded version of the 1st edition. The basic content is still the same and covers the latest syllabus as prescribed by the Dental Council of India and other Asian countries. This edition has incorporated most of the latest innovations which have evolved in the field of orthodontics in the last couple of years. The quality and quantity of the illustrations has been improved further to facilitate easy understanding of the text.

The chapters on materials, the use of computers and micro-implants have been upgraded and made more illustrated. Each chapter has been provided with a list of books /articles which present the contents of the chapter in greater detail. These would aid students to gain further knowledge on certain topics which is beyond the scope of the textbook. Stress is on making the student understand the concept of diagnosing orthodontic problems, thus making early intervention possible.

Gurkeerat Singh is a graduate and postgraduate from the Mangalore College of Dental Surgery, a constituent of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. He did his M.Orth in 2001 and is registered with the Royal College of Surgeons, London as well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He started his teaching career at The Rama Dental College and Research Centre, Kanpur in 1998 and presently is the Professor and Head of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Sudha Rustagi College of Dental Sciences and Research, Faridabad, Haryana.

He has over two dozen publications in various Indian and foreign journals to his credit. He has also presented papers and been a guest speaker at various state and national conferences. His areas of interest include-fixed bite jumping appliances, micro-implants, interceptive and adult orthodontics.
