A thrilling work of historical fiction by Rensil D'Silva, first published in 2019. Blending history, mythology, adventure, and action, the novel imagines an alternate history surrounding one of the world's most famous jewels—the Koh-i-Noor.

Set in 1850, shortly after the British annexation of the Sikh Empire, the story follows James Ramsay, who is entrusted by Lord Dalhousie with transporting the Koh-i-Noor from Lahore to Mumbai, from where it will sail to England as a gift for Queen Victoria. But a secret network of Indian revolutionaries believes the diamond is actually the legendary Syamantaka, a sacred gem associated with Krishna, and they are determined to stop it from leaving India forever.

To carry out their daring mission, the revolutionaries recruit Ajmera, India's most feared bandit, who is awaiting execution in the dreaded Khoordah Prison. Before he can attempt the seemingly impossible train robbery, Ajmera must first escape prison. The mission becomes even more personal when he learns he will face Tara, the woman he abandoned years earlier and who now accompanies Ramsay on the journey.

The novel combines prison breaks, train heists, sword fights, romance, betrayal, and mythology into a fast-moving adventure. Although the central plot is fictional, D'Silva incorporates real historical events surrounding the transfer of the Koh-i-Noor and the early days of the Indian railways, creating an entertaining "what if" story with cinematic flair.
