Shanti Mohapi marries King Sanyu of Njaza in an arranged marriage, fulfilling her dream of becoming a queen. However, she is treated as an outsider by her subjects, and her husband is a reluctant ruler burdened by tradition. Though they share a passionate attraction, they lead separate lives by day and navigate political gridlock.
