Pustak Vyavasayi Mahasammelan

When a business spans generations, every milestone feels like part of a larger story—one written with dedication, grit, and an unwavering commitment to the community. Recently, at the Pustak Vyavasayi Mahasammelan organized by the Pashchimi Rajasthan Pustak Vyavasayi Evam Lekhan Samagri Vikreta Sanrakshan Samiti in Jodhpur, we were deeply honored to receive recognition for taking our legacy business forward into a new era.

Receiving this award on stage surrounded by respected leaders and peers from the bookselling and stationery community was both humbling and invigorating.

Respecting the Past, Building the Future

Our journey began in 1966 when Pushpa Devi Harwani laid the foundation near Ghanta Ghar, followed by Manoj Kumar Harwani establishing Book World at Jalori Gate in 1998. Carrying this torch into the present comes with a deep sense of responsibility.

While our roots remain firmly anchored in trust, personal connections, and quality curation, modern retail demands continuous evolution:

• Blending Heritage with Modern Spaces: Evolving the traditional bookstore into an inviting community hub complete with curated co-reading areas and modern amenities.

• Digital Integration: Streamlining inventory and extending our reach online so our community can connect with us seamlessly across channels.

• Creative Products & Merchandise: Launching original, culturally inspired stationery and lifestyle collections alongside our core book catalogs.

• Community Engagement: Hosting interactive workshops, storytelling series, and active stalls at regional events to keep the passion for reading alive.

Gratitude to Our Community

An award like this doesn't belong to an individual—it belongs to the entire ecosystem that supports us every day:

1. Our Elders & Founders: For laying a rock-solid foundation of integrity, resilience, and customer trust.

2. Our Dedicated Team: Whose hard work behind the scenes keeps our operational engine running smoothly every day.

3. Our Readers & Patrons: Who continue to choose local book hubs as their second home.

What Lies Ahead

This recognition serves as a reminder that honor is not a destination, but a commitment to keep building. As we explore expanding our footprint and introducing fresh conceptual designs, our core promise remains unchanged: to celebrate literature, spark creativity, and serve as a home for readers and creators alike.
